Truth Be Told’s first two seasons were a hit for AppleTV+’s streaming service. Each season of this true crime anthology features Octavia Spencer’s character, Poppy Scoville, at the center of unique case. Co-stars in Seasons 1 and 2 include, Aaron Paul, Lizzy Caplan, Kate Hudson, Mekhi Phifer, Elizabeth Perkins, and Ron Cephas Jones.
The challenge in creating promos for the 3rd campaign was to build upon the prior success of the series, while showcasing Octavia Spencer and her Season 3 co-star, Gabrielle Union, along with a strong supporting cast. Additionally, it was imperative that we take a tasteful approach to this season’s narrative, which involves sensitive subject matter.
Season 3 finds Octavia Spencer’s character, Poppy Scoville, in the middle of a multiple missing persons case, when a series of teenage girls mysteriously disappear. While local media and law enforcement focus their efforts on a single affluent victim, Poppy goes on a crusade to turn the spotlight on the forgotten girls of color, vowing to chase down the people responsible for taking them away.

For our trailer, we created a bespoke music cue that borrows vocals from Danielle Ponders’s recently track “Some of Us Are Brave.” The lyrical content and emotional tenor of her voice mirrors the struggle of our central characters.
