While at Audience, I was tasked with creating the official trailer and the on-air network campaign for AT&T’s biggest foray into scripted original content to date, the screen adaptation of Stephen King’s award winning novel, Mr. Mercedes.
While King is primarily known for his prowess as a horror fiction writer, Mr. Mercedes is his first attempt at a hard-boiled crime novel. Executive producer Jack Bender explains, "Mr. Mercedes is not a horror story in the traditional sense. It’s a story about the monsters that live within us." With that in mind, we steered away from any of the standard horror film techniques and approached the promos from a more dramatic angle.
