This year's festival was about extending the identity of the Grizzlyfest brand. With that in mind, The IAN Group wanted to create a character that embodied the youthful and fun-loving spirit of the festival. I recruited the talents of a few digital animators and after a handful of iterations, we created the bear avatar you see below. Meet Grizz Lee. His likeness was translated across a handful of mediums from digital model, to print, to a 3-dimensional inflatable that became a popular photo op at the two-day event.
In subsequent years, we plan to expand the narrative surrounding Grizz Lee. We've carefully positioned him to become a key element in Grizzlyfest's branding strategy.
